Our School Partners Rock!!

This month, we wanted to take the time to highlight one of our school partners, Southern Wesleyan University. This partnership has been fruitful in many ways already, one of them being the opportunity the school gave us to showcase the items in their campus store that the girls in the sewing program make! Now, university students can purchase bags, headbands, and jewelry and know that their proceeds are going to support the girls who made them! 

In addition to the products in the campus store, another way that this partnership has been fruitful has been through the participation in trips this past summer! Brad Bowen, Director of Campus Safety at Southern Wesleyan, joined us on a trip this past summer! See what he has to say about his trip:
 
"I didn't know what to expect going on the mission trip...it was interesting to me to see the contrast between the tourist areas and then just steps away were poverty. The most memorable thing for me was hiking to the top of the mountain to the village up there...I'm reminded of the passage in the Bible where God takes care of the sparrows. The hardships that some of these people have to endure, the ones that are digging for food in the garbage dumps, but the Lord sees them and the Lord provides for them, the Lord makes a way for them." -Brad Bowen 

We are extremely grateful for Brad and this partnership at Southern Wesleyan University. We hope that this has encouraged you and given you an insight into what a school partner is! Calling all SWU Students! 

Are you a student or do you know a student at Southern Wesleyan University? If so, then make sure to listen to our Executive Director, Jack Eason, speak at chapel on November 15th & 17th! Staff from The Crossover Cups Mission will also be tabling on campus so you can stop by and learn more about the mission, how to get involved, and maybe even sign up for a summer 2022 trip! Be sure to check out SWU's website for chapel updates.
