As things seem to be calming down in the United States, the Coronavirus pandemic is escalating quickly in the Dominican Republic. The nation is on a complete lockdown from 5pm to 8am for everything except emergency services until at least June 1. The usually busy streets are completely empty. While the big cities in the DR saw the first cases of Covid-19, now the smaller villages, like the ones you know and love, are increasing in their numbers of cases. Daniel and the Crossover Cups Mission team are being bombarded with food needs from our six villages. Last month, Daniel and the team gathered food for families, loaded it onto a truck, and delivered it to families in need. Now, it is too dangerous for that. People are desperate, and they will do whatever it takes to get food. Now, Daniel and the team are calling families on the phone to schedule a time to come pick up their ration of food at the mission compound, providing a safe way for our team to get food to the villagers.
