Humanity
We believe that all people were intended to possess productive lives, families, friends, and neighbors in fellowship with God. But man rejected God’s perfect plan and became alienated in those loving relationships through disobedience to God’s ideal plan for their lives. Therefore, if your relationship with God is incorrect, your ties to humanity will also be skewed.
Salvation
We believe that God so loved the world that he gave his only son, and whosoever believes in him (his message, his sacrifice, his resurrection) shall not perish but have everlasting life. We believe that salvation comes to any person who reaches the point of genuinely accepting/internalizing the message of Christ through the enlightenment of the Spirit.
Baptism
Jesus said to repent and be baptized. We promote obedient water baptism in the presence of witnesses. If our relationship denies the first commandment connected with repentance, one must ask additional serious questions.
Discipleship
We believe in the ongoing process of renewing our minds to become more like the Christ that we serve. Like the Disciples of old, many find an authentic relationship with Christ during genuine discipleship.
Evangelism
We believe it is the opportunity and responsibility of everyone who has found the truth to share it. Sharing the gospel is more than a message of identifying verbally with Christ. Evangelism contains the seeds of transforming lives physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Christian Life
We believe all Christians should live for Christ and not for themselves. By obedience to the Spirit of God, Christian accountability, Bible study, and personal devotion, every believer should mature and be continually conforming to the image of Christ.
Church
We believe that the church is the body of Christ, a people of whom Jesus Christ is the head. The church members are all who have trusted the finished work and message of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by serving the world, loving God, and making his ownership known. We believe in working partnerships with local churches.
God
We believe in one God, creator of all that is. We know him as Elohim, Jehovah, the God identified in the Holy Bible. Therefore, there is only one true God.
Christ
We believe that Yeshua, identified in the English Bible as Jesus, is the one true begotten son of God and the fulfillment of the prophecies as the rightful eternal King of Kings and Lord of Lords. There is only one true Christ, the Biblical Yeshua-Jesus of Nazareth.
Spirit of God
We believe in an indwelling, motivating, inspiring, wisdom-giving power that comes from the Spirit of God. This Holy Spirit indwells/fills/empowers those who yield their life to the Lordship of Jesus the Christ. There is only one true Spirit of God.
Scriptures
We believe the entire Bible is true. Holy men of God wrote as the Spirit of God inspired them. Therefore, the Bible is our reference book for all things pertaining to living life well and right.
Brand/Denomination/Affiliation
We welcome the words Christ-Follower, Evangelical, Protestant, Bible-Believing, Conservative, Spirit-led followers of Jesus Christ in any description of our work. We seek to love God with all of our resources and love those around us with the same enthusiasm that we would love ourselves. We call those who love God with their heart, mind, soul, and strength to join us in everything we can agree upon and serve the people God created. We choose to focus on our significant similarities rather than our micro-differences.
Purpose
We rescue and pre-rescue children from abuse, poverty, and spiritual darkness. We rely on Spirit-inspired wisdom to improve the lives of these children through education and Christian discipleship. Conversely, we aid the American Church through interaction in successful world mission projects and teach kingdom people how to personally engage their own culture through experiences in third world missions. The CUPS Mission currently serves in the Dominican Republic and Malawi, Africa.
