It was just eight years ago that we spent our first Thanksgiving in the Dominican Republic serving these impoverished communities. So many beautiful blessings have happened since then, and you all have been there throughout the journey. Thank you. Together we have seen lives transformed, education provided, meals served, children rescued, and people come to know Jesus Christ as their own Lord and Savior. This is truly a great-commission effort we have had together. 

This year another team will head into the garbage dump on Thanksgiving morning. It is always a special day for us of the American culture, as we serve the poorest of the poor in an attitude of personal thanksgiving for the blessings we have received in simply being born in the United States.

We are also thankful for the good news of Jesus that came to us on that greatest of all thanksgiving days over two-thousand years ago. I do my best to never miss a meal without being thankful to God for the blessings of Christ. I want every meal to be a time of remembrance and consecration.

As you share meals this Thanksgiving with your family and friends, please remember your friends in the Dominican Republic. Although we are miles apart, we share the same table of partnership in Christ and in this mission. Thanks for whatever special Thanksgiving offering you can send this year for our feeding programs.

May your turkey be moist, may your stuffing be tasty, may your gravy be glutton free, and may we always have a place in our hearts for each other in common partnership in saving lives.
