If we were together right now, I might ask you to close your eyes and try to imagine this scenario, but since you have chosen to keep reading, please keep your eyes open.
Imagine the Lord appeared to you, called you by name, and after he gently picked you up off your face said, "I have a choice to put before you child. If you will, you may swap your home and bank accounts and all your possessions for ones matching this little child in the Dominican Republic. You will live the life that she lives, struggle where she struggles, have joy in her joys, and leave this world as she does. Only I promise to be with you every step of the way, to love you each day, and bring you to my home when you breathe your last. Or, if you will, you may exchange all that you have now for that of Elon Musk, or the King of England, or a Saudi Prince. You will live as they live, carry their burdens, experience their joys, and leave this world as they do. Only you must make this journey on your own, and without me at your side. I will not forsake you in the end, for I have made you my child through my Son Jesus, but I will not walk with you if you choose this path."
Which do you choose?
If this story sounds far fetched, remember the story of Moses and the wandering Israelites in Exodus 33. God reiterated his Covenant to give the people the Land flowing with milk and honey (i.e. they would be rich), even though they were proving to be a "stiff necked people," and God promised to send an Angel ahead of them to wipe out their enemies along the way (i.e. they would be safe), but he said he would not go with them. How did Moses respond? "If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?" (Ex. 33:16)
Through Crossover CUPS Mission, your significant gift of $23 a month provides a path out of poverty, and away from exploitation for a child in the Dominican Republic. You give food, you provide education and skills training, and the most important thing you make available to these children is access to God's Word. At Bible Camp, they hear the Good News of Jesus Christ, and the promises of God that he will never leave them or forsake them (Heb 13); that he will make his dwelling with them, and they will be his people, and he himself will be their God (Rev 21). You give these children the hope that Moses had - not hope in wealth or security, but hope in God himself, in his promises and his presence through Jesus.
When you give your significant partnership at $23, you will join others who are a part of the army of friends providing transformation.
We are praying for a team of 100 people who will join us at $23 a month before the end of the year. Can we count on you today?
