Recently we shared with you the opportunity to begin construction on a new community center in the village of Los Chivos! Through your continuing support, the basic structure that will house CUPS discipleship, baking and sewing programs is now well under construction. Thank you!
Summer teams have been working with our missionaries on the ground to make the space useable as well as canvasing the community to pray with families, meet immediate needs and let them know about the opportunities that will be coming to their village soon. There are already signs that God is moving in the village, as summer teams have been able to engage with movie nights and games in the community, and report that the children and teens already know to come in the evenings when events are happening.
There is still much work to be done to make New Dawn a fully operational CUPS community center in Los Chivos. First, the biggest prayer need is for God to raise up new Dominican leaders who are called to serve as missionaries to this village. Summer teams are great, however the goal is to have full time missionaries in the village so the children and families have faces they come to know and trust and who are committed to winning this community for Jesus! Second, we need additional funding from partners like you to finish the rooftop apartment to house missionaries and to furnish the sewing and baking training centers with necessary equipment at teachers.
